Meet Sicnarf: A True Jack Of All Trades

Rapper. Artist. Poet. Tattoo artist.

Seriously, if you want to get a tattoo? Call him. You need a performer for a spoken word event? Call him. You want a portrait drawn or some dope artwork to hang in your crib? Call him. Most importantly, if you want to hear music with substance, amazing lyrical content, and raw energy then you already know what to do: CALL HIM. Crazy thing is, those credentials don't even begin to paint half the picture of who Sicnarf is. It's not everyday that you come across a gifted individual that can do so much with seemingly little effort. We got the chance to chop it up with him and hopefully after reading this story, you'll have a better idea of who Sicnarf (the rapper) is.

Damn only five? The RZA, Kendrick, Kanye, Desiigner, Joyner Lucas, Anderson Paak, Frank Ocean, Schoolboy Q, Ab Soul...aight let me stop lol
— Sicnarf, when asked what artists he hopes to work with

Born in Cameroon, West Africa, Sicnarf spent the majority of his life living in a variety of environments. Other West African countries, different states in the US, and even Jamaica have been places he has called home. However, it's all the experiences from his unique upbringing that he attributes to his diversity as an artist. Sicnarf also credits artistic influence to The RZA, Kanye West, Busta Rhymes and Kendrick Lamar, the latter being an artist he is often compared to (in addition to Tyler The Creator & Andre 3000).  You won't catch him making those comparisons though! As far as he is concerned there is only one Sicnarf.

In these troubling times, music and its creators can be a source of comfort, beacons of hope, and the platforms needed to get important messages to the masses. Sicnarf has plans to to fit that exact bill. He hopes his music will empower Black people and start a revolution. Listeners can appreciate the passion behind his music, as well as his lyricism. He prides himself in his ability to tell a story and surprisingly, he doesn't always write music in the traditional fashion. "It honestly depends on the situation. I actually didn't write the majority of my upcoming tape. I was doing UBER at the time so in between rides or on the way home I would play beats and just say stuff until something stuck. Then I'd repeat it over and over until I memorized it" he told us.

It is clear that Sicnarf exudes talent and is an artist that has the ability to make some serious waves. We will definitely be waiting patiently for a new full length project from Sicnarf but in the meantime, make sure to stay connected with him by following him on Twitter, Instagram, and Soundcloud!
