Meet Roxbury's Gangtsa & Gentleman: Top Notch Heffna

Not too often do you come across artists who live what they rap, but in this case you will. Top Notch Heffna is unique in his own right and he wants you to understand that.

Originally born in Texas, Heffna's lifestyle instantly became different. Although the South bred him, the mean streets of Roxbury raised him, which understandably turned him into the man he is today. In a previous article featuring Stizzy Leftlane, we explained the harsh reality of growing up in an inner city neighborhood such as Roxbury. Some people aren't always able to play the cards they were dealt, but in Heffna's case he used it to his advantaged and says "it's turned me into a gangsta & a gentleman."

One of Heffna's biggest influences happens to be from the south: Gucci Mane! Not surprising, if you take into account that Heffna was originally born in the South. Thus, it is safe to say that the South undeniably runs in his blood.

Heffna goes on to explain that he appreciates Gucci Mane because of the respect he posseses from people, as well as his work ethic. Similar to how people can relate to Gucci's music, Heffna feels his listeners are similar in more ways than one. "I think my listeners appreciate my music because they can relate to the music and feel the realness within it" said Heffna.

Work ethic stems from the environment you're surrounded by and for Heffna, the perfect session comes easy when surrounded by the best vibes! "I like too chill in the studio, get the vibe right with some smell goods and record with my favorite engineer Fresh from de" said   Hfna. If you've listened to tracks such as "Summer 16 Is Ours" featuring running mate Shriiraq as well as the song "Trust Nobody", you can definitely tell the vibes were just right!

Be on the lookout for Heffna because he's definitely on the rise, and don't be surprised if you see him on some big name features with artists he's talked about collaborating with such as Gucci Mane, Diddy and 50 Cent. For now, he'd settle for a collaboration with local artists such as City Boi Dee & Cousin Stizz .

Anything is possible as long as you stay true to your principles, and as Heffna would say "Say Less & Do More"!
